Which of these types of roofing is right for your home?

Asphalt Shingles

Most asphalt roof shingles used today are technically known as asphalt fiberglass shingles because of the fiberglass mat embedded in the shingle that provides an extra measure of strength and tear resistance.

These shingles are affordable, easy to install, durable, and available in a wide variety of colors, which makes them the most popular type of roofing for sloped roofs. Premium grades of “laminated” asphalt fiberglass shingles are typically warrantied for 50 years.

Rubber Roofing

Frequently used for garage and porch roofing, Rubber roofs have a long lifespan and can withstand harsh New England weather conditions.

After years of research and development, there is finally rubber roofing that is thin, dependable, and waterproof. Also known as ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) roofing, rubber roofing is ideal for flat or mostly-flat roofs on homes. EPDM has many benefits, including being resistant to tears, rips, and inclement weather.

Metal Roofing

Metal roofing is durable and has many available styles & colors to complement your home’s appearance.

When you choose metal roofing, you decide between factory-formed and finished roofing panels, or roofing panels that are cut and shaped on-site. Metal roofing works best on simple, flat roofs and installation of metal roofing is also non-invasive. The Northeast Home and Energy insulation installation crew was very professional, efficient and thorough when they installed attic insulation in my home. The team leader outlined the work they were going to do before they started. Each member of the crew seemed to know what their contribution was and proceeded with their work in an orderly and efficient manner. Everything was cleaned up before they left. The team leader reviewed the results of their work and left information about contacting the company if any questions or issues came up after they left. Very pleased with their efforts.

We couldn’t be more impressed with the experience we had working with John Prunier and Northeast Home&Energy. From start to finish, their attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship were evident in every aspect of the project. We had a big siding project that was not exactly standard and included some carpentry and window instal. The team took the time to truly understand our vision and kept us informed every step of the way with clear and timely communication. John Prunier and Northeast Home & Energy delivered an exceptional roofing experience for my husband and me. We bought a home whose roof was starting to need attention so we called NEH&E to start the research process. From start to finish their team was informative, kind and sensitive to our budget.

We actually had fun looking at all the roofing choices for color and quality. Once we made our decisions the process moved very quickly. When John said that it could be done in under two days he wasn’t kidding!! They were basically done stripping the old roof and putting the new one on in the same day. The second day was just making sure that the cleanup was perfect. Crazy fast!!!

Northeast Home and Energy replaced our roof last week.
It was a great experience! The crew was amazingly hard working, professional and serious about their work!
On day one they put up a huge barrier net to keep all roof debris off our house. Ground helpers used wheel barrels to dispose of all roof material into a dumpster which was delivered the previous day. They left the yard and driveway neat and clean including picking up old nails. We’re So impressed with the job they did!
Richard was in touch throughout the entire process and oversaw the job from start to finish. We couldn’t be more pleased! Everyone, and I mean everyone, couldn’t have been any nicer!
Do yourself a favor and use Northeast… you’ll be glad you did!

Where to begin!
This was a great choice in getting my father’s roof replaced. Richard Prunier was pleasure to meet.
The contract was to the penny, no additional cost at completion of the job. The work was done all in one day! The whole process from start to finish was flawless.
Love the look of the roof, and it was put to the test the next day we had lots of rain!

From the time Mike arrived to quote on windows till the last window was installed, the process was nothing short of perfect. We purchased an older home which needed lots of care. I searched the BBB for 5 star reviews and found Northeast Home & Energy highly rated in capabilities that I needed which were roofing, siding, and insulation. I called for a quote and they promptly sent Mike G to meet with me at my house to go over details of what was needed. I also worked with multiple other companies at the same time, none of which would do all the work needed, and received multiple quotes for comparison. I found Northeast to be competitively priced and selected them to replace my roof, my siding, and to upgrade my attic and overall insulation. Their crews were very professional and worked hard to complete the jobs on time and clean up each day. Since my wife and I were at work an unable to be on hand during the work, we asked for a few adjustments (e.g., move doorbell location) after they were done and Northeast had no problem coming back to do several small things (not rework but changes) until we were happy. As an example, we recently installed a new back door which required us to reframe the doorway and cut through the aluminum wrapped around the door casing. I asked Haley from Northeast to please send someone to replace the damaged aluminum. I left for work one morning and came back to see that it had been completely redone. It was beautiful. This was our first home so we had to learn a few things along the way. Mike G and Haley partnered with us and worked with the crews to ensure that we were fully satisfied with the results. My wife and I could not be more pleased with our choice to go with Northeast for our new roof, siding, and insulation. I recommend them highly.

Very positive experience. Work was done fast and efficiently for a large old house, and I have even gotten compliments on the attic by teams here for other projects not related to insulation work.

I really enjoyed that I could schedule with Richard via texting rather than a phone call. I work non-traditional hours and it was a little thing that made my experience much more enjoyable. They were flexible with scheduling and worked to find a day that was best without me having to take PTO.

Bill was the head contractor on my project and he was knowledgeable about the work to be done, courteous, respectful and seemed to enjoy what he did and took the time to teach the newer members on his crew. I felt safe having 2 grown men in my house while I was alone. Listening to Bill and his crew banter back and forth while working also made me chuckle. Prior to doing any work Bill kept me well informed of what was happening and potential risks. The old thin walls were monitored for bulging/ bucking while being filled with insulation. I was asked about what colors for door kits I preferred and alerted that it wouldn't match existing frame and pieces of frame needed to be removed - with consent. And a few other things that were specific to my project. My house was kept clean and tidy - rugs protected by drop cloths, extreme caution around delicate wallpaper, and the whole area vacuumed up at the end of the project. Bill and his crew also made sure that future workers would be aware of the exposed beams under the insulation with well made signage and posts. Very impressed and have already recommended to my friends.

NE Home & Energy provided insulation and a new roof at my 110 year old house in the last half on 2020. I am a commercial construction project manager and the work they performed was very very good in quality, workmanship and professionalism and met all my expectations. But what was even better than the installation and worthy of a 5 Star Rating, was that last month, 3 years after the initial installation, we noticed a small drip in a ceiling directly below the new roof, and when I contacted NE Home & Energy about the drip, they didn't argue or question or make excuses but they came over to inspect the roof with me and made the warranty repairs in less than an hour. I am not use to great service like that in the construction and remodel industry (or any industry or service provider for that matter) and I wanted to share that experience for others.

From start to finish, the crew that worked on our home were very communicative, thoughtful, timely, professional and knowledgeable.
They were able to get us an appointment earlier than anticipated- which we appreciated. The crew showed up on time, covered all areas with tarps, cleaned up after themselves and were very respectful of our home. The manager was able to do multiple tests (including carbon monoxide texting) on our home that made me feel even safer than when they walked in here. They even found a few things off (my house was flipped) that they fixed for me while they were in the attic. They told me about it, educated me about the problem and asked me if they could fix it (and how they were going to fix it).
At the end of their time in my home, they asked me to look at the work they did. And while I wasn’t looking, my dog ran out of my house- and they immediately ran out of the house got him to come back in safely.
My house is now warmer because of all the work they did and I know that they improved my house more than I could have asked for.

The crew did the job in one day. The roof looks so great. I did my research on the shingle and they use 50 year shingles which is unusual for Nantucket. My last roof lasted only 14 years and it is good to know that I won’t have to worry about the roof for years.
The only downside was that there were a lot roofing nails around the house which is hell on car tires. But to my surprise they had a roller magnet that picked up all (hopefully) of the nails.
All around good experience. Great product, great warranty, great service, and best of all GREAT price. I highly recommend them.

I chose Northeast Home & Energy because when I checked their website, their reviews were top notch and I liked the fact that it was a family run business for over 40 years, having come from a similar background. Richard gave me a quote that was reasonable, and I had no idea that new roofs can now last 50 years, and that the warranty is transferable to the new owner should you sell the home. BONUS!! The roofers were professional, efficient, and very tidy. I highly recommend this company, as my experience was awesome!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Northeastern were incredible! They installed my new roof in one day! They organized everything and made sure all my fencing and plants were fully protected while removing the old roof. I have a dog so they also made sure there were no nails left behind with a special machine that picks up nails. Not only that but our new roof has a lifetime warranty which reduced my home owners insurance. I can’t say enough good about our experience with Northeastern Home & Energy! Thank you so much.

We are very pleased with the wonderful job done by Northeast in replacing our 28 year old roof. The team worked very hard and very quickly and efficiently and finished the job in two days.

We were also appreciative of the attention that John Prunier, Northeast VP, gave to our job. He made sure everything was done the way we wanted it and explained everything that we wanted to know. We would recommend Northeast to anyone needing a new or replacement roof.

He was extremely responsive, clear and concise with his estimate and explaining the process, and checked on the progress of the roof installation in addition to following up after it was complete.
